The Ski Amadé Region is Austria's largest Ski Paradise! a fact not well known by British skiers. It comprises of 5 regions, 850km of Piste and 270 state-of-the-art ski lifts; all available on one SKI PASS!

The area offers varied well groomed pistes and runs to suit all abilities, it's a great place, ideal for family holidays. There is no shortage of off-piste runs for skiers and snowboarders who are looking for something more adventurous!

Austria is well known for its excellent ski schools, and the Amadé area is no exception. It is also home to World and Olympic champions Michael Walchhofer and Hermann Maier, who both run Ski Schools locally. Atomic Skis - The ski's of champions, are also based in the town of Altenmarkt, and often have Ski test days when you can try out the latest models. The Amadé has an excellent snow record from early December to late April, and the close proximity to Salzburg airport - only 50 minutes drive away - makes the Skiwelt Amadé area ideal for short and weekend ski breaks.

After a hard days skiing you can sample one of the fantastic traditional huts for a bit of après ski, great music, dancing and refreshment!

The Advent markets start early in December in many of the small towns in the area - they are definitely worth seeing - the atmosphere is magical, locally made traditional crafts are on sale, stalls selling hot gluwein and roast chestnuts. The local band and the church choir gather to play Christmas carols, its wonderful!

Non-skiers will also enjoy the cultural events and sights of Salzburg, the home of Mozart, only 50 minutes away by road or rail.

A good night out is 'The Musistadl' in nearby Flachau, where there is live music and dancing every afternoon and night of the year. The Musistadl is a 400-year-old barn from Carinthia that has been reconstructed in the ski village. A fantastic night out for all ages.

Ski Pass

The Amadé Ski Pass covers the whole of the Ski Amadé area, 860 km of skiing available on a single all-in-one ski pass. Skiers can use their ski passes for a range of services including ski lifts and fee ski shuttle services. A 6-day pass typically costs from €27 to €29 per day, €14 to €15 for children, depending on season and is available at a number of Centres in the area. Ask for details.

Ski Hire If you wish to reserve your skis, boots and poles or snowboard in advance, you can do so through our website at good rates.
